Almost one thousand pairs of shoes:   on their way to the

Poverty prevents the people of the Congo from affording
shoes. The bare foot soles lead to parasites being contracted
through their feet, into the body's digestive tract.
This limits the nutrition, leaving them in a weakened
condition, often leading to death from even
common illnesses.
